IPEN Participating Organizations (POs) around the world are carrying out activities related to the Toxics-Free SDGs Campaign. Started in 2018, these activities address themes such as agroecology, chemicals in products, endocrine disrupting chemicals, hazardous chemicals in the lifecycle of electronics, highly hazardous pesticides, lead in paint, women and chemicals, POPs, workplace right-to-know, and / or zero waste issues. In particular, actvities undertaken in the beginning of 2019 addressed these themes as they relate to the Stockholm Convention and its 9th Conference of the Parties (April - May, 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland). These specific activities helped raise awareness and move forward discussions about low POPs content level, PFAS, exemptions for PBDEs and sulfluramid, and the need to eliminate PCBs in an environmentally-sound, non-combustion manner.
