Highly Hazardous Pesticides Rwanda Situation Report
This report gives an overview of the current situation of highly hazardous pesticides (HHPs) in Rwanda and provides information about main crops produced in the country, the national pesticide registration and control framework, the list of nationally registered pesticides, campaigns to ban highly hazardous pesticides, and more. The report explains that information from farmers revealed that their understanding of pest control has limitations that need to be improved upon, and that promoting the use of natural pesticides may be a way to facilitate access to affordable and eco-friendly inputs.
This report relates to Sustainable Development Goals 2, 3, 6, 8, 12, 13, 14 and 15.
Special thanks to IPEN's Anglophone Africa Regional Coordinator Silvani Mng'anya and IPEN's Anglophone Africa Regional Hub AGENDA for their important contributions to the development and finalization of the project.
