CEPHED launches environmentally sound health care waste management initiative in Nepal.
09 December 2013
The Center for Public Health and Environmental Development (CEPHED) has launched an initiative to develop an environmentally sound health care waste management system and mercury-free health care services model under their ongoing "Public Awareness and Capacity Building for Elimination of POPs and its Sources from Nepal" program.
These initiatives directly contribute to the reduction of release of POPs. Additionally, making health care services mercury-free will contribute to the reduction of mercury releases into the environment, and support the new, international mercury treaty, recently signed by the government of Nepal.
