Uganda is a land locked country with an area of 241,500 km2 lying astride the equator. It is located in the eastern region of Africa, situated at latitude 1º22’12.00” north and longitude 32º17’24.00” east. The country is bordered by South Sudan to the north, Kenya to the east, Tanzania and Rwanda to the south, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west. Of the total area coverage of 241,500 sq. km, about 15.3% is open water, 3.0% permanent wetlands and 9.4% seasonal wetlands. The perimeter of Uganda is approximately 16,630 km.

Gothenburg, Sweden Today, civil society and indigenous peoples organizations delivered more than 187,300 petition signatures from over 107 countries to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Director-General Qu Dongyu, demanding that the FAO end its partnership with CropLife International, an international lobbying association for the world’s largest agrochemical companies.
The Caribbean Poison Information Network (CARPIN) reveals in this telling report on Highly Hazardous Pesticides in Jamaica that HHPs account for 32% of the registered active ingredients in the country. Other countries have banned 66 pesticide active ingredients registered in Jamaica, including three pesticides not approved in the European Union.

Alternatives to highly hazardous pesticides (HHPs) have been developed and increasingly used by farmers in Niger since the beginning of the last decade. Association Vie & Développement Kowa Murna (AVD-Kowa Murna) documents in this report such biological alternatives that are used. The report ends with recommendations on how to promote HHP alternatives in the country further.

Para atingir este objetivo foram elaboradas 4 cartilhas, que possuem um respectivo manual instrutivo para aprofundar as informações sobre os conteúdos das mesmas. Portanto, ao todo foram elaborados 8 materiais (4 cartilhas e 4 manuais instrutivos).
