On 18 July, 2013, IPEN Participating Organization Center for Public Health and Environmental Development (CEPHED) successfully launched the first ever report on "Study of Heavy Metals in Children`s Toys in Nepal" under a research fellowship from UNEP Eco Peace Leadership Center, Youhan- Kimberly University, South Korea. According to the research findings, 54% of the toys tested were found to be contaminated with heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, chromium and bromine.
IPEN's Asian Lead Paint Elimination Project was established in seven countries to eliminate lead in paint and raise widespread awareness among businesses and consumers about the adverse human health impacts of lead-based decorative paints, particularly on the health of children.
