Global day of action on POPs in Ukraine.

On April 15, 2005, a roundtable on "Options to Raise Public Awareness of POPs and the Stockholm Convention" was held in Kiev. The range of the roundtable participants incorporated university lecturers, teachers, representatives of the academic community, NGOs, relevant ministries, publishers and mass media outlets. Students and school pupils were invited to participate as observers. Overall, about 500 persons participated in the event. After discussions, the roundtable participants approved the resolution and proposals to raise public awareness of the problem of POPs and the Stockholm Convention.
