Pesticide Action Nexus (PAN)-Ethiopia pioneered an initial assessment of Ethiopia's E-waste situation and began a national conversation with leading Ethiopian stakeholders about the future of e-waste management. Project activities included an initial month long assessment, a national stakeholder workshop with various community and government officials, and a follow up visit to the country's only existing refurbishment center. Due to the success of this project, PAN Ethiopa was invited to be part of a working task force, and PAN-Ethiopia is now conducting a two year e-waste project that includes inventory of e-waste in Ethiopias major cities, awareness raising through various media, construction of e-sorting sites in four major cities, development of training materials for the proper disposal of e-waste, and the organization of a national workshop.
