This paper documents the trade of Australian Processed Engineered Fuel (including Refuse Derived Fuel and/or Waste Derived Fuel) exported to Malaysia. In particular the paper will expound on ResourceCo, an Australian company which produces “fuels” from waste and has an alternative fuel processing plant in Ipoh, in the state of Perak, Malaysia.

According to CAP’s analysis on usage of lead in new enamel household paints in Malaysia found that more than 60 % of 39 paint samples tested contained exceedingly high lead levels.
(Penang, Malaysia)More than sixty percent of paint brands analyzed in a new study on total lead in solvent-based decorative paints contained high lead levels, and at least one paint from most brands contained exceedingly high lead levels. The findings are included in a report released today by the Consumers’ Association of Penang (CAP) and IPEN. Moreover, consumer information about lead content was missing from most paint can labels, and a number of brands falsely advertised themselves as “low lead.”
“The health impacts of lead exposure on young children’s brains are lifelong, irreversible and untreatable,” said S.M. Mohamed Idris, President of CAP. “We are limiting our children and our nation’s future intellectual development even though safe and effective alternatives are already in use and widely available in Malaysia. We must reduce this critical source of lead exposure to young children.”
PENANG, Malaysia – PAN Asia Pacific (PANAP) today renewed its call for authorities to more tightly regulate agrochemicals and ban the highly hazardous pesticides (HHPs) amid reports of pesticide poisoning in Siputeh, Batu Gajah in Ipoh. Thirty seven people, aged two to 71, were rushed to the hospital – with four in critical condition – after eating food apparently contaminated with the pesticides from carbamate group from a local stall last 4 March. Weedicides were also traced near the premises.
