On the occasion of World Environment Day, Ram Charitra Sah, Director of IPEN Participating Organization Center for Public Health and Environmental Development (CEPHED), was presented with the Environment Conservation Award 2016 by K.P. Sharma Oli, Rt. Honorable Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal. The award recognized Mr. Sah's work for environment conservation and protection of public health.

In the run-up to the 2nd United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA2), which will take place 23 - 27 May, 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya, IPEN has released its Views of Selected Issues at UNEA2. This document is a summary statement of some IPEN views about issues that will be taken up at the UNEA2, including: stakeholder engagement, sound management of chemicals and wastes, lead and cadmium, lead battery recycling, sustainable consumption and production, and marine plastic debris and micro plastics.
The United States and European Union are negotiating a new trade agreement called the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). This agreement is a threat to the EU’s ability to protect people from toxic chemical exposure.
