Awareness-raising on POPs in Togo

Togolese NGO and civil society awareness-raising and information project on the Stockholm Convention and POPs.

This project aimed to inform and raise awareness of the Stockholm Convention and POPs among Togolese NGOs, associations and civil society leaders so they could participate in implementing the Convention and related national policies. COMET convened a workshop with 70 NGO and civil society participants and designed it so attendees would further disseminate the information presented at the meeting. The four main themes of the workshop were NGO/CSO strategies in advancing the implementation of the Stockholm Convention; building capacity; Indigenous agricultural practices as an alternative to POPs; and sources of financing.
