Moldova without POPs.
The public awareness-raising activity organized a town-to-town bus tour of 13 settlements in the Chisinau municipality and involved more than 850 people who took part in the action. In addition to public awareness-raising on the tour, participants collected important POPs-related information concerning pesticide storage, illegal waste dumps, landfills, and other sources of environmental impacts. This information was collected into a register of POPs pollution hotspot in the Chisinau municipality and central regions of Moldova; made publicly available; and submitted to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources. After the activity, Chisinau Territorial Organization of the Environmental Movement of Moldova was invited to participate in the NIP process.
