A Toxics-Free Future

The Center for Public Health and Environmental Development (CEPHED) has launched an initiative to develop an environmentally sound health care waste management system and mercury-free health care services model under their ongoing "Public Awareness and Capacity Building for Elimination of POPs and its Sources from Nepal" program.

A new literature review pertaining to emissions from burning plastics in domestic fireplaces, household stoves and boilers, with a special focus on persistent organic pollutants (POPs), has been prepared for Arnika and Center of Environmental Solutions by Alan Watson C.Eng (Public Interest Consultants).

NGOs Arnika (Czech Republic) and Center for Environmental Solutions (Belarus) have released a new Russian-language Guide on Chemical Safety and Waste.  Although it includes a lot of information that is specific to Belarus, it may also be useful information for other countries.
