IPEN Signs-On to Letter to the European Parliament on TTIP

IPEN joined over 65 organizations signing-on to a letter to the President of the European Parliament expressing concerns that the European Commission (EC) is failing to respect the European Parliament's 2015 resolution on the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). The letter, organized by IPEN Participating Organizations Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) and the Health and Environmental Alliance (HEAL), as well as Client Earth, highlights new analysis that demonstrates that the EC continues to ignore critical aspects of the European Parliament’s Resolution on TTIP, in particular regarding recommendations related to protecting public health, the environment, and democracy.

In the letter, specific points were made regarding Negotiating on and affecting EU chemicals and pesticides rules; Respect for the EU regulatory system; and the Investment Court System.
